PADI IDC Staff Instructor

PADI Course Director Steve Prior gives tips on becoming a PADI IDC Staff Instructor.
Steve's Tips
on becoming a Prior Knowledge PADI IDC Staff Instructor
PADI are continually shifting the emphasis on the Instructors Exam (IE), so people who do the PADI IDC Staff Instructor course with us automatically become a member of the Prior Knowledge team for one year.

You will be given the latest versions of the Prior Knowledge materials that will enable you to teach the most up-to-date PADI Assistant Instructor course.

This course is probably our “Flagship” course. We recognise that the PADI IDC Staff Instructor is probably the most important member of Dive Training. Why? Well, because the Staff Instructor can teach the Assistant Instructor course, but also, an Instructor Examination measures people on what they have learned during the Assistant Instructor course. So it is PADI IDC Staff Instructors, not PADI Course Directors that create new Instructors!

The responsibility, therefore, of the Staff Instructor cannot be underestimated. Techniques taught on the Assistant Instructor course (good ones and bad ones) will never be forgotten. It is impossible for humans to un-learn things!

So bearing this in mind, over 3 or 4 days (depending on candidate numbers) you will learn to use our specially developed Prior Knowledge © products and be prepared to teach the Assistant Instructor course with confidence.  You will understand more about the psychology of teaching and how to apply accelerated learning techniques.
