Because we teach people and not courses each PADI IDC that we teach is a little bit different, but here is a basic outline of what's in store for you when you take your PADI IDC with us in Sharm el Sheikh, Egypt...
A nice and easy start.
After a course orientation to find out just how we are going to become PADI Scuba Diving Instructors, we spend the day talking about diving and discussing the PADI System.

Today is a big day as you'll learn the same skills that top communcators use to deliver knowledge in a classroom.
After lunch we cool off in the pool with a Skills Demonstration Workshop, where everyone feels more relaxed being under water.

First up - you have another practice at teaching in the classroom.
Then you learn how to teach skills in confined water. After a dry practice run, we hit the pool where you put it all into practice for real.

Building on what you have already learned, we discuss how best to teach skills in open water. Then we move to Shark's Bay where you practice teaching an open water class.
We have an ascents and descents workshop. When you can practice your CESA, as both student diver and Instructor, followed by learning to demonstrate a Rescue Exercise.

We start the day with more practice at teaching in the classroom - it's starting to feel much more natural now.
Followed by another practice at teaching in confined water. This session also includes a Discover Scuba Diving Workshop, which is great fun!

We return to the relaxing atmosphere on the beach at Shark's Bay where you have another practice at teaching skills in open water.
We follow this with an Adventure Dive Workshop and a Discover Scuba Diving Workshop.

Break out the toys! Time for Specialty Instructor training. Now you use your newly acquired teaching skills to extend your teaching range. This is more like diving.

The morning is spent in the classroom discussing how to teach the core PADI courses.
Then we jump back in the pool for more practice at teaching confined water skills.

To pass the PADI IDC you have to prove that your diving knowledge is up to scratch.
After all the classroom discussion we've had, you know how to find your way around the PADI Instructor Manual so the PADI Standards questions are easy to answer and with Steve's teaching tips, so are the Dive Theory questions.

We prepare all of the paperwork ready for the PADI Instructor's Exam and then hold a mock PADI IE. So there's another chance to perfect your performance.
By now you are focusing on being a great PADI Scuba Diving Instructor. Tomorrow it's the PADI IE - Bring it on.

When you successfully complete the PADI IDC you are ready to pass your PADI Instructor's Exam.
This is conducted by PADI Examiners over two days. They evaluate your knowledge of PADI Standards and diving theory and of course your teaching ability and certify you as a PADI Open Water Scuba Diving Instructor. Find out what's in store for you at the PADI Instructor's Exam

After their PADI IDC with us, so many people say that they never imagined that they would have so much fun in the process of becoming a PADI Instructor and that they would gladly do it all again.
All of our courses are run with one main aim - have fun. Read a PADI IDC DIARY written by an IDC candidate.
