PADI IDC Staff Instructor

Phil Stokes new PADI IDC Staff Instructor

Phil Stokes becomes a PADI IDC Staff Instructor

Phil Stokes became the very latest “Prior Knowledge” PADI IDC Staff Instructor at Emperor Divers in Sharm el Sheikh. Phil only became a PADI instructor last November. But as soon as he passed his Instructor Exam, he got to work! He soon reached the requirement for Master Scuba Diver Trainer and registered for the PADI IDC Staff Course straight away.
Phil has got a fantastic personality, and a wonderful way with people. It’s no surprise that he is so successful in teaching people to dive.
I am looking forward to Phil attending on future IDC’s with us. I know that he will be a great help to all IDC candidates.

New PADI Instructor and EFR instructor

Craig Lawton becomes a PADI instructor

Craig gets proof that he is in fact a PADI Instructor!

Congratulations to Craig Lawton who became the very latest EFR instructor and PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor at the recent PADI IDC at Emperor Divers in Sharm el Sheikh.

The weather in Sharm for this IDC was perfect, the sea warming nicely brought many wonderful sights. Manta Rays and Eagle rays were seen almost daily. Sharm el Sheikh was very quiet with few tourists. A great shame that people were not able to see such wonderful sights.

Craig EFR instructor

Craig becomes EFR instructor

So, Janet, Craig, Phil, Lorreta and I had a wonderful peaceful time learning IDC Skills that will help everyone become a great instructor. As always, simply passing the Instructor Exam was not the first and most important factor. Learning how to give full customer attention and service is the number one criteria.  However, having said that, the scores that were awarded on the Instructor Exam could not be higher!  5 followed by 5 followed by 5… well, you get the picture.

Craig scores 5

Craig scores another 5!

It was a very quiet Instructor Exam for the whole of Sharm el Shiekh. in fact all of the centers combined could only muster up 13 candidates. Our next IDC in Sharm is scheduled for September, and already there are many people preparing for it. Sharm is the most perfect location for an IDC as everything is on your doorstep.

Ornate Ghost Pipe Fish in Sharm el Sheikh

Ornate Ghost Pipe Fish

Ornate Ghost Pipe Fish at PADI IDC

Learning to become a PADI Scuba Diving Instructor is always a lot of fun. But this was even more special. We saw this Ornate Ghost Pipe Fish at Ras Katy while we were practicing IDC Skills It’s only the 2nd time I have seen one in the Sharm el Sheikh. What a wonderful surprise. Thanks to Den, who not only spotted it, but also brought us back to it later so that Janet could take this photo.
