PADI IDC Staff Instructor Course

5 new IDC Staff Instructors

Five PADI Instructors took their next step to become PADI IDC Staff Instructors. Over 3 days, Sanner, Ian, Rob, John and Richard delved into the psycological reasons as to why we teach people in the way that we do.
They learnt how to avoid certain areas when teaching new instructors, and they learnt how to improve teaching styles.
Of course they had a lot of practice with marking presentations, but they also had a deep understanding of why the scoring criteria was so important. During the course, we used the Prior Knowledge materials and learned how they can be usful in getting IDC Candidates better prepared for life as a Scuba Diving Instructor

Of course we had a lot of laughter and leg pulling along the way! It was fantastic to see everyone working together as a team. None had met each other before, but they soon formed a bond, an understanding formed by their common bond of being a PADI Instructor and their love of teaching others.
I am looking forward to seeing each of them on future PADI IDCs where they will experience the whole teaching process in action. They will see future IDC candidates grow in confidence and grow in ability on a daily basis – It’s a wonderful process that never fails to astound me!
